Hummingbird Afghan

I've taken some time out of things and I am beginning to feel better. Thanks so much for all of your kind emails.

I've been working on my Afghan on the big frame using the Highland Cows tools that I've shown you.

Stitching progress is woefully slow. I am finding it quite uncomfortable to stitch. Unfortunately the size of the Afghan prohibits use of my favourite lap based frame.

It is slowly taking shape... the colours are very pretty. Sadly, the picture does not show this very well.

Crazy For Highland Cows

There is a farm quite close to my home that has a field full of these stunning animals. I look for them every year! I think that they are absolutely gorgeous.

As soon as I saw these little Textile Heritage kits I just had to have them. I made them into stitcher's tools for my floor standing embroidery frame. They hang down from the side.

One has a loop to hold thread. The second is a large Needle Rest.

On Safari

This stunning pattern is called Safari Animals and it can be found in the David & Charles Cross Stitch Collection. It was really quick to stitch in black on red Aida. I just adore the shape of the tree and each of the animals.

I plan to make it into a tablemat.

Two Pretty Pillows

I stitched these two pillows for my bedroom and filled them with fragrant lavender. They are a departure for me. I rarely stitch in one colour but I found these two pillows almost as relaxing to stitch as the blackwork.

Prairie Schooler Finishes

The pattern is called Forget-Me-Nots. It is stitched on 30 count cream linen using the recommended colours. I didn't change a thing!

Short Break

Without going into detail I have some bad stuff going on in my life which means that my posts will be sporadic for a bit.

Please bear with me.

Easter Prarie Schooler Project

Here is a sneak peek of my current project. I've had the Prarie Schooler Designer Series pattern for quite some time but this is the first time that I've stitched it.

I'll show you more after Easter.

Do you recall my Crow Stitch Markers? The picture shows two in use, marking the top and bottom boundaries, I love using them!

Happy Easter
